How it works

Simple, and no surprises

No hidden fees, no confusing process, no disappearing once you've paid. Here's exactly how working with me goes — from first chat to finished job.

1

Tell me what's not working

A quick, free chat — email, WhatsApp, or the contact form below. You explain the problem in your own words. No commitment, no jargon, no charge.

What I'll ask: what's happening, when it started, and what you've already tried (even if that's "nothing, I don't know where to start"). That's fine — that's what I'm here for.

2

I take a look and give you a clear quote

I review what you've told me and give you a straightforward price — before any work starts. For simple fixes, I'll often give you the price in that first conversation. For bigger projects, I'll put together a brief written plan with the scope, timeline, and price.

No surprises: the price I quote is the price you pay. If something genuinely needs more work, I'll stop and talk to you first — I never just run up the clock and send a bill.

3

I do the work

Same hands, start to finish. I'm the person you spoke to, and I'm the person doing the job. No passing you to someone else, no "our technician will call you."

For everyday fixes, I'll typically get it sorted the same day or within a couple of days. For larger builds, I'll give you regular progress updates so you always know where things stand.

4

I'm there if you need me

After the job is done, you're not left on your own. Need something tweaked? Something not quite right? Just ask. And if you want ongoing peace of mind, I offer a monthly support plan so everything keeps running smoothly — and I'm your go-to for whatever's next.

What makes this different from an agency?

When you hire an agency, you usually get:

  • A salesperson who promises things the tech team haven't seen
  • An account manager who relays messages back and forth
  • A technician who only knows half the story
  • Billing department that sends invoices with line items you don't understand

With me, you get one person who does all of that — but without the overhead, the confusion, or the agency price tag. I understand your problem, I do the work, and I explain everything clearly.

Common questions

How quickly can you start?

For everyday fixes, I can usually get started the same day or next day. For larger projects, it depends on current workload — I'll give you a realistic timeline in the quote. If it's urgent, let me know and I'll do my best to help quickly.

Do you come to me?

It depends on the job. For computer repairs, it's usually easier for you to bring the device to me in Long Eaton. For Wi-Fi, networking, printer setup, or business IT — I can come to you if you're local to Nottingham, Derby, or the surrounding area. Remote help is also available for many software issues.

What if I don't know what I need?

That's completely fine — most people don't. Tell me what's happening or what you're trying to achieve, and I'll help you figure out the right approach. The first chat is free for exactly this reason.

Is there a minimum charge?

For hourly work, the first hour is £40. After that, it's £40 per hour, charged in 30-minute blocks. For a quick diagnostic chat or simple question — no charge. I'll tell you upfront if something is chargeable.
